Well, what can I say? Sometimes, everything – and I mean everything – falls into place..
We caught up with Rachel & Simon the day before their wedding as they were setting up, in the rain.. Like the “Hi everyone, I’m the solid rain that will be staying here all week – hope you don’t mind.” kind of rain.. I mapped out my Plan ‘A’, Plan ‘B’, and even Plan ‘C’ for photos thinking we’d probably need parts of all three at some stage throughout Rachel & Simon’s wedding.. I managed to fax off an request for some clear skies just before ‘close of business’ that day for what it was worth, but to the question of whether rain would feature heavily in Rachel & Simon’s largely outdoor wedding, I could feel all the Magic 8 Balls in the world answering firmly with “All signs point to yes.”
It seems my fax made it into some powerful hands, along with about 150 other faxes requesting the same clear skies.. Yes, it rained on Rachel & Simon’s wedding day, but zero rain fell on the stunning grounds of Jimbour House until the everyone had well moved into the safety of the aircraft hanger for an amazing party..
And with some crazy storms in the area all day long came the amazingly dramatic cloud formations & beautiful golden light.. It was heavenly.. So piece that together with Rachel & Simon (awesome humans), some excellent guests, Jimbour House, amazing event styling, & a swing band.. well… you get the idea..
We made some photos.. That’s why Alyda & I were there :)
HUGE thank you to Rachel & Simon for having us, and to Redbull for helping us get home from Dalby that night.. And to Polkadot Bride for featuring this wedding as well.. Head over here for more photos & info direct from Rachel & Simon.. do it.
